Dutch Dare #2

This one is for Dutch Dare #2.

Today is my fifth wedding anniversary. Woot, yay me. Well, yay us. LOL

The base is craft cardstock by Paperbilities, the patterned paper is from Making Memories, Boho Chic pad, the flowers are prima, the centers are buttons and twine, the sentiments are from Anniversary Birds by Verve Visual and the focal stamp is by Rachelle Anne Miller. Milo is crackin' me up, right? LOL My husband does not look like Milo, he has an afro--but he is about that color! He really liked his card, actually. He digs my new hobby.

Some Coloring, A Revelation and an ENABLE

First things first, Starving Artistamps is having a hella good give away! Go see it!

I recently acquired the Koh I Noor pencils. They are dreamy! I blend them with good ol' GooGone and I adore the effects I can achieve.

I also have my old standby--water colors. Again, LOVE the effects I can achieve with them and a simple water brush.

I also have set 36a of the Copic Ciaos. I do not enjoy the Copics. I can't achieve the effects I'd hoped to achieve, with the Copics. I haven't tried them on every paper with every ink, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to bother.

In a few minutes I can color and blend or water color my image and it turns out smashing every time. I've posted, maybe, 2 cards that I've used my Copics on, simply because I don't like the way my images turn out. I can get way cooler effects and blends with 24 KIN's or 24 water colors than I can with 40 Copics (I have 3 extra colors of Sketch markers and I have a colorless blender).

I never smear Lily or Milo's dots when I pencil them. I ALWAYS smear them when I marker them.

I think this is a sign from above and also a sign of my impatience, ha.

The snow lady is from Prickley Pear Stamps, and it was in a PIF I received from Jennifer at Glitter In My Hair. I almost sent it to Jennifer at Cuppy Cake, because she has a thing for snowpeople, but I'm so glad I kept it! It's adorable. (I wasn't using a stamping pad when I stamped this one--my table is all crooked and I don't get a good image if I'm not stamping on my piercing mat) She is colored in with Copics and it's boring, yes?

The other two are colored in with Koh I Noor woodless color pencils and blended with GooGone! (They are, of course, Rachelle Anne Miller stamps, I got them at Sweet N Sassy Stamps)I did color in their flesh with E00 from my Copics, and as you can see, smeary faces all over the floor! I'm giving up the ghost. KIN's and water color pencils all the way for me, my Copics are goin' back to the factory!

Long Time, No Blog, Right?

Ok, I'm kinda over blogging right now. I'm over alot of things. Heh.

I'm so over stamping, yo. I'm a dork who can't walk straight and I thought I could stamp straight. I might get a Stamp-A-Mathingy with my coupon this week, but I'll probably fark that up too.

I should get non-runny ink, actually. That's what has me bummed. I smear sweet, whimsical Lily's face every time I touch her with a Copic E00. Meh.

I made eight cards tonight, samples for an order. A friend of mine wants me to make a box of all occasion cards for her mom, a woman with 5 children and 13 (or is it 14?) grandchildren. That's gonna be a HUGE order. Can I get a 'what, what?'? I'm really excited, actually. And the cards turned out beautiful too, not a drop of ink on them.

Speaking of ink. Staz-On is awesome, yes? I have it in 2 colors, dig it for watercoloring my Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps. Won't come off my Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps. The ones manufactured by StampAvie. Stuck. On. UNremovable. I tried a rag, a toothbrush, soaking...I got nothin'...nothin' but a STILL black and icky stamp--they still stamp perfectly though.
(Any tips would be greatly appreciated.)

I'll be back tomorrow after I photograph the things I made tonight. May stretch 'em out for the whole week. Yes, I think I shall.

I'll be posting a PIF this week too, look for that.

Goodnight, y'all.

Lily & Milo Redux (get used to that title, ladies, hee)

I'm so in love with my Lily & Milo First Love and Lily Picking Flowers stamps. Rachelle Anne Miller's whimsical illustrations really strike my fancy. I'll be coloring and coloring for months. Get used to it.

I was up until the weeeeeeeee hours putting these together, but I've had a couple of them painted for a few days.

The green/brown/yellow one is the only one I actually painted last night. I wanted something more muted than I'd been doing with the watercolors.

My husband hunted up his heat gun for me, and I love the results I achieved using it to dry between steps as opposed to attempting to be patient (NOT).

I'll put the 'ingredients' at the very end.

Thanks for looking, my bloggin' friends.
