Some Heart to Heart, a Dutch Dare Does Double Duty and Boy, Do I Need to Clean Up My Work Table!

I finally finished my card for Carolyn King's Heart to Heart (be still my beating heart) Blog Candy Extravaganza Giveaway (yeah, I came up with that name). The card is going to my mom--she has a lovely neighbor named Lucy who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Lucy doesn't have any children or grandchildren to help her out and there isn't anyone in her extended family who makes sure she remembers to eat and pay her bills. So, my mom takes her dinner every night and spends some time with her. Lucy usually remembers who mom is and she's always very grateful. She's the nicest lady and she has lived in my mom's apartment complex for longer even than my mom has, over 20 years probably. I've known her for about 16 years and I say a pray for her everyday. The saddest thing is to see when she gets that moment of clarity, she still gets them, and she realizes that she has to have help--you can see her inner struggle. So this card is for my mom.

This next card is for the Dutch Dare challenge this week. The challenge was to make a card for a boy or a man. My friend's nephew is turning 11 tomorrow and Caitlin and Collin are going to send this card to him in the mail. Kids LOVE to get mail. I know, the robots have rhinestones...I had to, shut up! :)

Finally, the aforementioned friend has a wedding to go to tomorrow and she asked me to make an accordion album for the bride--the pictures she gave me weren't the greatest, so I decided to make two smaller picture thingies (help, word please?). I love how these turned out! The bride is a real girlie girl, she'll love them.

See the mess underneath my card photos? I need a bulldozer, I've been working on so many projects with no time to clean up in between. Also, I've used about 20 bucks worth of GLUE this week...can someone help me with a cheap glue the isn't messy and actually sticks? Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm going to try to get the 10 cards I designed for HoneyD photographed and edited tomorrow.

thank you so very much: PTI kraft, SU! red, Cosmo Cricket patterned, American Crafts rub-on sentiment

you're cool: PTI kraft, Ampad black, Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo PP, Doodle Factory Sentiment

Seriously

I just took some photos of my messy workspace with all my projects laid out all willy nilly...waiting for me to BUY GLUE. Totally ran out. Tried ZipDry...didn't hate it. Anyway, my .jpg's are truncated or some shit...Jennifer told me that I'm a dork who needs to reformat her memory card. Sooooooooooo...no picture. BUT...I've finished my big 30 card project and I'm starting on a mini accordion album for a friend...so I'll have lots of stuff to show you over the next week.

In the meantime, check out Carolyn King's amazing blog and the biggest blog candy I've ever had the pleasure of drooling over.

It's Been a Long Time Comin'!

Seriously, I'm a bad blogger, but I'm a worse crafter! I've blogged way more in the last 6 weeks than I've crafted.

Tonight, I was determined that I was going to get some me time in my little corner. And boy, did I!

I recently received an envelope filled with love from Jennifer (yeah, I do know how corny that is, keep readin') and I have been itchin' to play. Every night, I lay down to go to sleep and gaze longingly at my work table, sitting lonely in the corner of my too big bedroom...the envelope of goodies sitting there, calling to me, practically mocking me. Na na na na, you can't play with me--you working stiff, you have to go to sleep.

A pox on sleep, this night (again, corny, keep readin').

I've had this idea for a Christmas card in my head since I got this Inky Antics stamp from Jennifer Glitter. And I LOVE how it turned out.

It also meets the most recent Dutch Dare, yay me

I stamped on PTI kraft and colored the snow angel with Koh-I-Noor and Prismacolor pencils. The pearly blue cardstock is ColorBok-which I embossed with my new Swiss Dots embossing folder (from my envelope of LOVE), the yellow is SU! and the eyelet is Martha Stewart paper lace. I used stardust stickles (from my envelope of LOVE), sticky pearls (also from my envelope of LOVE), hemp twine and tons of buttons on this dealy too. Boy, does stickles take a long time to dry, but goodNESS, is it ever easier than loose glitter.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Kreativ Kristin, she has an amazing Magnolia blog candy double header going on at her blog right now. Just link her up and comment and she'll enter you to win. I'd love to get my hands on some Magnolias! I'm itchin' to paper piece that girl.
