#302: Christmas Kraft

****editing again! because i have posted a one layer card before, from my time as Guest Designer at All That Scraps...my brain: One Layer Pumpkins, with masking!

***editing to say that this is THE FIRST one layer card I've ever posted...which means it's the first one layer card I didn't throw in the trash!

This kraft "challenge" week really wasn't much of a challenge for me--let's face it, I use kraft far more often than not. So for today's card I decided to stretch, as Susan says. Last Wednesday she introduced a one-layer challenge on  her blog (not that she did a one layer card today!) and I decided to play along. I really love how this turned out, and I could definitely see stamping 30 or so before December (yeah, like that'd ever happen).

I used my ubiquitous PTI kraft and PTI plum pudding, ripe avocado, pure poppy and dark chocolate inks. The combination on the kraft card stock is rich and vintage, but oh so clean. The ornament stamps are Tree Trimmings from Stampin' Up and the sentiment and dots are from Hero Arts Sparkle Clear: Holiday Messages. I added one tiny red gem to the small ornament for a little shine.

stamps: stampin' up tree trimmings, hero arts holiday messages
card stock: PTI kraft
ink: PTI dark chocolate, pure poppy and ripe avocado (old formula), PTI plum pudding (new formula)
other: red gem from my stash
tools: scor-pal

This is lovely on so many levels, I really like how it is balanced yet all elements are one one side, like the look of the colors against the kraft and of course that tiny one bling that makes a huge impact!

Ooh, I do like the mixture of lilac and kraft together. Your kraft card (although it may just be the light) looks a nice creamy colour. x

Great one layer card! I love simple Christmas cards, because I make a lot of different designs. I get bored easily, but still don't want to have to work too hard at coming up with a ton of complicated designs. Thanks for sharing!

I really like this. Would be perfect for mass-stamping around the Holidays. Just out of curiosity, did you and Susan plan to do Christmas cards or is this a coincidence?
