15 Days of Christmas Day 1 -- Glittered Glass Ornaments
Welcome to day one of my 12 15 days of last minute gift, card and decorating ideas.
i mentioned in the clip that i was planning not to embellish these, but i changed my mind...ball-y knocker fringe makes everything better, right? i adhered the ribbon and fringe with scor-tape
this style of ornament is smaller than the ones i showed in my video, and they have a flat side...i used a 1-1/2 inch circle punch to punch out pictures and adhered them with zots (because it's glass, you can change them year to year, the adhesive rubs right off...it might be difficult to save the photo, but mine are printed from my home printer anyway)
These are perfect! All the beauty of glitter and all the mess stays inside! I need to make some of these in green because I can't find any in the store that are the right color of green. So how or why does the floor polish work? Will the glitter ever let go after the polish dries in there???
OH MY GOODNESS LOVE THIS! How in the world did you figure out that floor polish is what would work? So looking forward to seeing what else you have up your sleeve!
Thanks for posting this. Too bad it wasn't up before we made 60 of these for my mother's employees! We watched a bunch of videos and they were using Elmer's clear glue or GlitterIt! glue and we tried the former...
We thought we let it all drain out, we waited like 30 minutes on each one for it to drain the excess glue. Event with all that, there was still glitter 'pooling' two days later. OMG. Horrors. We added more glitter to those later and it seemed to fix the problem.
I tried your floor polish (still Pledge, but the multi-purpose) and it works. While I was at the store I had an epiphany. Even BETTER than floor polish is HAIRSPRAY! [pump, not aerosol] It's WAY cheaper too!! I tried them both (we had leftovers) and I must say I think the hairspray takes more glitter!
Thanks for the idea! Too bad it wasn't sooner for us!
Thanks so much for posting this! I just made 18 of these beauties in an hour and there's hardly any glitter on me or my critters (haha)...You totally just made my Christmas crafts a breeze! Thanks again!! Sending all my friends to your blog!

I think its a great idea,
but I was just wondering how flammable the floor wax is, and is it a good idea to put them next to Christmas lights?
