Stamp It! Cards Meets Stamping Royalty Blog Hop

Hopefully you came from Laura Pryor's blog, but if you didn't go start at the beginning with Amber Daigre and hop along with us for tons of inspiration and 14 chances to win!

I will always remember April 11, 2011, not only as the day I broke my first bone (ha), but as the day Paper Crafts announced that I was one of their 2011 Stamping Royalty Queens! Today, 14 of the 2011 Queens are sharing in a blog hop to get the word out about Stamp It! Cards, Volume 8. This special issue is crammed (seriously!) with beautiful inspiration. In fact, leave a comment on this post by midnight (MDT) Sunday, July 3rd for a chance to win your very own copy of this very special issue! (Please be sure to include your email address in your comment so that I may contact my winner!)

The prizes don't stop either, my friends! When you're finished visiting all of my fellow queens (and leaving comments for more chances to win a copy of Stamp It! Cards Volume 8), be sure to click over to the Paper Crafts Connection and enter for a chance to win one of two fabulous stamping prizes!

Stamp It! Cards Volume 8 isn't the only reason we got together for this fun hop, though. We want to talk to you about Operation Write Home too, which seems especially appropriate as we celebrate our nation's independence in just a few days.  So, with the new stamps from our Stamping Royalty prizes in hand and a patriotic color theme in mind, we've all made a new card, specifically for one of the categories that OWH is in current need of. If you'd like to "play" along, make a new red, white & blue card for any occasion (especially those OWH needs right now) and add it to the Mr. Linky widget at Paper Crafts Connection, we'd love to see your projects! Remember to follow OWH's guidelines (like NO GLITTER) and keep your cards mailable.

Miss You card
stamps: GinaK Botanicals, Hero Arts/Basic Grey Life of the Party Stars
cardstock: Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy & Kraft
ink: Clearsnap, Inc. Colorbox Archival Dye in Putty & Atlantic Blue
tools: Fiskars Threading Water edge punch
fibers: Blueberry Divine Twine
I used Gina K Botanicals (from our Stamping Royalty prize package) and added the Hero Arts and Basic Grey cling background. The Colorbox Putty Archival Dye ink is the perfect color for tone on tone stamping on kraft because it doesn't go all light on me when it dries. I added my red in the form of a scallop and some cardstock stripes. The baker's twine adds just the finishing touch for this masculine (but not too masculine) card. Remember, OWH sends cards to our troops for them to send home...but not all our deployed soldiers are boys.

I know this was way more words than you're used to from me, I sure hope you read them all though! Your next stop on the hop is Kelly Silva. And don't forget to stop at Paper Crafts Connection for more chances to win!
