It was for a 90 minute scramble challenge in the Hero Arts Flickr group, the challenge was to use something that isn't a crafting/cardmaking supply. I used rock salt for my snow/ice and it looked great to start (the Glossy Accents is still wet in my photo, 90 min is not a long time!) but as the glue dried, the rock salt began to leach the water from my water based Glossy Accents and seep into the paper. It's so weird, it looks like I've dropped water on my cream cardstock, but only a 1/4 inch under all of the snow/salt. (I tried to get a photograph, but failed) So, I would not recommend rock salt for your holiday cardmaking, but for awesome challenges that stretch your creativity? Go for it! LOL
Also? We lost Squirrel this morning....guess where I found her? LOL I'm not even sure how she got up there!

Well aren't YOU rocking the contests these days! :)
When you said you "lost" Squirrel, I was worried. He was just misplaced. :)
Aw man, a gift card that size could keep me occupied picking out things for a long while! Great card, I can see why it won.
Love this gorgeous card! A well-deserved win. :-)
Congrats to you!! That card is so FUN!! Love the idea of the rock salt. Cute, cute!
Congrats! What a great card, I love how you did the snow on it. And your photo of your kitty is so cute, cats are so funny!
Good for you and congratulations! The card is gorgeous, and you could always substitute a more, ah-hem, traditional papercrafting substance for the rock salt.
