Through the Trees

I gave some of my new PTI goodies a workout yesterday. I knew as soon as I saw the first samples for Through the Trees that it would come live at my house--I love every image in the set and the sentiments are fantastic.

I went super simple for this mini shaped card and I think the result is really nice. I stamped the tree trunk in versamark and added Ranger Perfect Pearls in copper (I think), then I stamped the tree leaves in versamark and added Perfect Pearls in Lime (or Kiwi? my gorgeous friend Lauri, from Paperville included it in my goodie box she sent me recently). To set the Perfect Pearls, I misted the card front with water and then I just dried it with my heat gun. Finally, I stamped the birthday sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black, my new favorite black ink.

I cut two of the largest Nestabilities Labels 1 to make the card, I simply scored the top of the back piece at a 1/2 inch and added adhesive to that small section and adhered the front and back together. This way, there isn't any of the shape missing and I don't have to bust my Cuttlebug to get it to go through two layers of PTI cardstock!

stamps: PTI Through the Trees
cardstock: PTI kraft
ink: Versamark, Memento
other: Perfect Pearls, water, heat tool, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug, Scor-Pal

Beautiful card. Of course I am a visual person and not a reading person so I am totally lost on how that worked but it looks beautiful ...... I will have to try this ...... it is probably a blonde thing and not a visual thing :)

Very pretty card - and thanks for the tip on how you constructed the card - I was wondering about getting two layers of PTI paper through the Cuttlebug.
