Some Inspiration

I have Beate and Dawn McVey in my feed reader, they're both hugely talented paper artists, awe inspiring really. Well, Dawn and I had an amusing exchange regarding page pebbles yesterday that prompted me to buy a similar product while I was out and about yesterday afternoon. Today, Beate's inspiration challenge prompted me to build this card. The inspiration never ceases, people!

So, my card: I used Ampad black cardstock for the base, it's a long-y for a business sized envelope, echoing the model's long silhouette. I mounted the card front on GP white and popped it up on foam dot tape. I used Cosmo Cricket vellum flowers that I gently embossed on my piercing pad, then I put two together with my Crop A Dile and black K&Co eyelets. I wanted to pop the flowers up on foam tape without the foam tape showing, so I used me trusty Crop A Dile, again, to punch holes into the centers of my foam squares. The first time I stamped my sentiment (from a retired Stampin' Up! hand-me-down) it got all farked up, so I simply camouflaged it (feeling pretty ingenious here).

I am, overrall, satisfied with this card. I learned a few things about freestyle paper piercing--I learned that I so stink at it. :/

OOOh OOh OOh, I almost forgot, my Fiskars Corner Edgers came in today--I got the Regal and the Nostalgia. I'm off to play.

Farked up! what a hilarious expression. I love all your incredible details. That ribbon is gorgeous. I never thought to crop-a-dile my pop ups - what a great idea.
